Handlettering: A Beginner’s Round-Up of Places to Start
If you’re like me, you’ve seen the beautiful handlettering at weddings or on art pieces at HomeGoods & Target. Maybe you think, “I’m a little crafty. I’m sure I could learn to make something like that myself!” You log into Pinterest see all of the gorgeous images. Now, you might be asking, “How do I start?!”
I’m so glad you asked!
I honestly don’t remember exactly whose blog I used as my starting point. I read quite a few posts about lettering, and I know I watched some YouTube videos. I can’t remember which videos. (I DO remember that the instructor was super sarcastic which made the videos that much more enjoyable!)
I did some looking around and found a couple videos/channels that you might find helpful if you learn better with a video:
This one is mostly about brush lettering, but it also touches on some other basic styles & methods.
Most of these above websites have some awesome resources, so click around & see what you find. Let me know if you have another resource that I didn’t list here so that I can check it out too – I love finding new lettering friends!
